You’ve never seen the head man in charge get down like this.(Tuesday, July 14, 2009) President Barack Obama, sporting a White Sox jacket, becomes just the fourth US President to throw out the first pitch at the MLB All-Star Game and the seventh president to attend the event. John F. Kennedy (1962), Richard Nixon (1970), and Gerald Ford (1976) also threw out the first pitch at the Midsummer Classic. Obama didn’t accept an invite from the Reds to throw out the first pitch at Saturday’s Civil Rights Game in Cincinnati against the Chicago White Sox. The White Sox also were said to have invited Obama before their opener against Kansas City on April 6, and Nationals ex manager Manny Acta had hoped Obama would throw out the first pitch prior to Washington’s home opener against Philadelphia on April 13. As a US Senator, he threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the White Sox defeated the Anaheim Angels 2-1 in Game 2 of the 2005 AL Championship Series.Here are some of the hits from the KING OF POP. President Obama concluded his answer, “In some cases, we may try to find a portion of the country that is relatively stable and start work there to create a model that the rest of the country can then look at and say, this is a different path than the one that we’re taking right now.”
